MINNEAPOLIS – Allina Health has selected Coon Rapids for the site of its new Customer Experience Center, which will centralize Allina Health call centers and integrate phone and digital capabilities into one location. A dedicated Customer Experience Center will make it easier to navigate the health care system and improve access to care and overall customer experience. By 2020, the center will employ up to 500 people.

“The Customer Experience Center allows us to reimagine the traditional call center into a hub of innovation that will help us keep pace with changing communication preferences and technologies,” said David Slowinske, senior vice president, Allina Health Group Operations. “Ultimately, our goal is creating meaningful connections with all who choose us for their care. The customer Experience Center is a big step in realizing that vision.”

“The new Customer Experience Center is designed to be a virtual front door – allowing our customers to communicate with Allina Health where they want, when they want and how they want. Whether it’s scheduling the right care at the right time or receiving medical advice, the new Customer Experience Center is designed to make life easier for our customers.”

The Customer Experience Center, located at 8880 Evergreen Boulevard, Coon Rapids, provides more than 58,000 square feet of space that will be remodeled to accommodate the entire Customer Experience Center team in a facility with state-of-the-art technology. The center is scheduled to start taking calls by April 2019, with the remainder of the transition planned in phases throughout 2019.

By locating the Customer Experience Center in Coon Rapids and Anoka County, Allina Health will be adding to its footprint in the community, which includes:

  • Mercy Hospital – Mercy Campus

  • Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus

  • Allina Health Clinics

  • Allina Health Emergency Medical Services

  • Allina Health Home Oxygen & Medical Equipment

  • J.A. Wedum Residential Hospice

  • Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute

  • Penny GeorgeTM Institute for Health and Healing

  • Virginia Piper Cancer Institute

Coon Rapids Mayor Jerry Koch says, “The City is proud to welcome the new Allina Health Customer Experience Center to Coon Rapids. The location at 8880 Evergreen Blvd. is the perfect complement to Allina Health’s other nearby health campuses, Mercy Hospital – Mercy Campus to the north and the Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus in Fridley.  Allina Health is the city’s largest employer and we are excited to see the continued growth with 500 employees working out of this facility.”

“We are thrilled with Allina Health’s growing service and employment in Anoka County and look forward to continuing our strong partnership as they continue to invest in our region,” said Rhonda Sivarajah, chair, Anoka County Board. “We are extremely proud that one of the key differentiators in the selection process was the quality of our local workforce. The development of the Customer Experience Center also falls right in line with the county’s business development goals, as call centers were one of the target industries identified in a recent economic development strategic analysis the county had commissioned alongside Connexus Energy and metro North Chamber of Commerce.”
